Mindfulness meditation is really about being present in the moment. I heard from several people who said that they tried this kind of meditation but found it didn't work for them. Meditation for them was a series of distractions that they had to avoid. However, when they got into the practice, they found that they had a greater appreciation for the moment and really enjoyed the experience of being able to let go. So how exactly does mindfulness meditation help us? To practice mindfulness, we have to learn to stay present and one can also utilize a meditation specialist like Caroline McDougall. Being in the moment requires focus. It may be something as simple as watching your child play or enjoying a sunflower flower that you picked that day. Regardless of what it is, the point is to focus on something that is happening now rather than on something that may happen in the future. Sometimes you may think you are focusing on something when you are really just focused on something else. You need to realize that what you are focusing your attention on now is not going to change in the future. One of the best ways for us to cultivate mindfulness meditation is to be aware of the feelings we are having. If you are angry at something you should be able to let go of that feeling. Instead of holding onto that anger, you should let go of that feeling because you aren't allowing it to grow. You may feel that you need to react to something because you are starting to feel angry, but if you don't let go of that anger, it will only grow and you will find yourself holding it in and you may feel even more angry. Another great tip is to find something you can focus on in order to forget about what has caused you to feel angry or frustrated. For some people this task may be easy enough to do because it's something they are very used to. For others, however, it can take some practice. The important thing is to start small and work your way up to something that feels easy and comfortable. Mindfulness meditation doesn't have to involve looking for things to do where you can sit and focus all day long. Instead, you can practice mindfulness by simply noticing your feelings and thoughts as they arise. By focusing on these feelings and thoughts you can gain a greater understanding of yourself and of the world around you. As you become more aware of how you are thinking and feeling, you can begin to learn to shift your focus away from the negative to the positive. When you are doing mindfulness meditation you will be able to relax more easily. This can lead to better sleep, which can lead to better health. You will also be more able to focus on things you enjoy, which will help you burn more fat and lose more weight. Once you learn to keep your focus and attention, you will find that you are more likely to get things done on time. And when you can't keep your focus and attention on your daily chores, you are more likely to procrastinate and do things that you should be working on.
